In recent years, ecology has been a leading topic in the world, and humanity is gradually trying to get rid of fossil fuels and switch to renewable resources. By 2050, for example, Europe aims to become the first green continent, and although it is still a long way off, we are gradually approaching that point. However, what has currently outraged the public and the experts themselves around the world are two 23-year-olds from Texas, USA, who have connected their BTC miners to oil rigs. This is a very different approach to mining, as Sweden and the EU’s main financial regulators, for example, are calling for a ban on the main mining form (PoW) of the two largest cryptocurrencies on the market.
Cryptocurrency mining is not environmentally friendly, and many experts around the world believe that it poses a major risk that could jeopardize the goals of the Paris Agreement. However, the youngsters in Texas who own Giga Energy Solutions are obviously not doing anything about it, as, according to the Independent portal, one of them posted a video directly from the “farm” on his Twitter. This video already has more than 2 million views and the young Brent Whitehead and Matt Lohstroh began mining cryptocurrencies in 2019 while studying at Texas A&M University.
