However, according to the latest information, up to 63% of them come directly from China, which has banned the extraction and use of cryptocurrencies, which is a relatively large paradox. This information was published by the Shanghai daily China Securities Network, which claims that China has the highest number of patent applications related to blockchain.
At present, more than 55,000 patent applications have been filed by almost 7,800 companies. However, more than 33,000 applications come directly from China, which represents about 63% of all applications. These are crazy numbers that have put China in first place with leading companies such as Alipay, Ping An Property, and Tencent. Patent applications allegedly began to accumulate mainly after 2015, with the most significant increase after 2018.
