Disney has hired a lawyer to help with “emerging technologies,” NFTs, and the Metaverse

If we had to name one studio that is literally a monopoly, it is definitely Disney. This studio owns companies such as ABC, ESPN, Lucasfilm, Marvel, Pixar, or Fox Studios, for example. In other words, this means that it owns the rights to films such as Star Wars, Avatar, most of the famous big animated films, Pirates of the Caribbean, or, for example, all the films from the Marvel Universe (MCU). As you can see, it is a monopoly in the movie industry, so many people started asking when Disney will start focusing on NFT or metaverse. However, the wait seems to be over, as Disney has decided to hire a lawyer who will deal with Web 3.0, NFT, blockchain, DeFi, or metaverse tasks.

On September 25 of this year, the Corporate Transactions Group of the Walt Disney Company’s legal department posted a job posting on LinkedIn seeking a “Senior Counsel – Corporate Transactions, Emerging Technologies, and NFTs.” Such news pleased many NFT fans, as it is immediately clear to everyone what Disney will be able to create. In planning the “accelerated and aggressive” implementation of new emerging global technology initiatives, the general counsel should also work very closely with the various business units. So it is very encouraging that Disney has decided to take such a step.
