The Nigerian website eNaira was launched a month earlier

As you know, in the past we have informed you that Nigeria has decided to create or launch its central bank digital currency (CBDC) called Digital Naira. eNaira wallet, which the user can link to their bank account was however in the meantime already launched, even though it was not planned until October. This is a pleasant surprise for the whole crypto world.

Rakiya Mohammed, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Director of Information Technology (CBN), announced that it plans to launch CBDC in the country by October 1 this year, with Nigeria’s digital currency issued and regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria. As expected, of course, we again received positive as well as negative responses. Many are looking forward to the introduction of digital Naira, and some fear that it will give the central bank too much control over citizens’ financial rights. However, the Web claims that eNaira will cultivate economic growth, curb fraudulent behavior, and, among other benefits, is safe.
