The San Francisco-based car insurance company has announced that it will begin making payments via BTC

Cryptocurrencies continue to be one of the leading topics everywhere we look. An exception is not even the San Francisco-based car insurance company Metromile, Inc., which has announced that it will allow its clients to send payments via Bitcoin, as well as pay claims to its clients in this form. The Metromile digital insurance platform, which is also listed on Nasdaq Stock Exchange, announced this news on May 6 and explained that we are only talking about the cryptocurrency BTC, in which the insurance company has invested $10 million, thus only showing that Metromile is very serious about its decision. Dan Preston, CEO, also commented on the announced news:

“We believe in the transformative potential of blockchain technology. We are still in the early days of realizing how this shift to decentralized finance and cryptocurrency will create enduring advantages in insurance, but we believe that offering bitcoin as an option for premium and claims payments would be an important first step.”

Metromile company is also known as a pay-per-mile car insurer.
